Multiple Assault Counter Terrorist Action Capabilities

Course Size: Max 16

Course Objective: MACTAC is the swift and immediate deployment of law enforcement resources to an active threat/terrorist attack, which may include multiple, simultaneous attacks. These situations require immediate action and the rapid deployment of patrol officers. Failure to act could have catastrophic consequences resulting in death and/or great bodily harm to innocent people. These incidents may also necessitate the immediate and rapid deployment of patrol personnel to contain and prevent the escape of an armed and dangerous offender, or rescue a downed officer and/or civilian. Topics addressed will include:

  • Team formation
  • Integrated tactics: first responders, contact, and rescue teams
  • Urban tactical operations and movement formations
  • Use-of-force and safety priorities
  • Equipment and identification requirements
  • Integration of multiple agency responses
  • Verbal skills
  • Deployment and firearms handling

 

Mobile In-Service Training Team#7 Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

MTU 7 request for certification of this course has been approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

Meets the following mandatory training criteria: Const. Use of LE Authority; Emergency Medical Response 1 hour; Laws Concerning stops, searches, and the use of force 2 hours; Officer Safety Techniques, 12 hours with 10 hours scenario based and Specialized Training: Active Threat Response 16 hours with 12 hours scenario based.
