SRT/SWAT CQC Baseline Course

PUPOSE OF COURSE: This is an 40 hour, 5-day course, designed for officers attached to an SRT/SWAT team to learn a baseline level understanding of deliberate style CQC tactics.

COURSE OVERVIEW: This class will provide members of SRT/SWAT with the skills and tactical knowledge necessary in order to perform team sized level deliberate style close quarters clearance (CQC) of a structure. SRT/SWAT members will not only learn the fundamentals of deliberate style CQC but weapons safety, manipulation, target identification and de-escalation methods. SRT/SWAT members will be given an in-depth power point presentation each day with slides and videos before performing practical’s.

Topics include

  1. Deliberate style CQC advantages and application
  2. Weapons positions during movement
  3. Weapons safety and manipulation
  4. Actions of CQC outside the uncleared space
  5. Actions of CQC inside the uncleared space
  6. 2-and 4-man room entry
  7. Barricade clearance
  8. Prioritization of threats and target identification
  9. De-escalation methods outside the space
  10. Hallway movement and channelized areas
  11. Deconfliction
  12. Multiple rooms clearance
  13. Dual entry points
  14. Stairwell movement
  15. Team size clearance

Mobile In-Service Training Team # 7 Illinois Enforcement Training and Standards Board

MTU #7 request for certification of this course has been approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

Meets the following mandatory training criteria: Procedural Justice: 2 hours,  De-Escalation Techniques: 13.5 hours with 8 hours scenario based and Officer Safety: 27.5 hours with 17.5 hours scenario based.
