Course Objective

This 8 hour class is a basic introduction to the tremendous amount of possibilities and information a detective has access to when conducting cellular investigations. Participants learn why cellular investigations are so critical to any case they work and the evidentiary value of call detail records.

Several criminal case studies are examined in the class to include patrol, violent crimes, property crimes, person’s crimes and drug task forces. The successful use of call detail records to obtain convictions is a necessary skill set for any sworn officer as more and more suspects use cellular devices to engage in crime.

The most current techniques and legal applications will be taught, giving students the immediate ability to use that information for criminal investigations. This course has been designed to expose officers, crime analysts, and dispatchers to call detail records, geolocation, VoIp, historical and real0time applications, provider contact and record purge time frames, and legal concerns associated with these types of records. The course is comprised of actual case studies, showing real world scenarios for all of the techniques and principals taught. This format allows attendees to immediately see how to apply techniques to actual cases. This is the most comprehensive 8 hours course covering this subject available anywhere. There are no “fillers” in this course. It is fast paced, immediately relevant, real world training.
