Course Objective

This seminar focuses on the central role of effective verbal interaction in leading and achieving organizational goals.

Participants will identify the necessary skills for developing excellence in work groups, learn how to facilitate employee communication satisfaction, and develop skills for facilitating organizational change through strategic communication.

Course Content
  • Recognize the central role of speech communication in law enforcement and leadership excellence.
  • Learn to facilitate organizational change through strategic verbal interaction.
  • Develop an understanding of the key characteristics of successful law enforcement teams.
  • Assess their teams on the essential team characteristics
  • Identify important factors contributing to and inhibiting ethical behavior in uniform.
  • Develop an action plan to develop a more effective team and action plans for personal and organizational change.
Instructor Biography

Dr. Brian Polansky is an award-winning educator, speaker, and author of education programs designed to encourage professional success through Communication Excellence.
After completing a Doctorate in Communication Studies at the University Of Kansas, Dr. Polansky joined the faculty of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. Since 1993, he has provided communication education and curriculum development to law enforcement agencies including the FBI National Academy, the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, International Association of Police Chiefs, and numerous police academies, associations, and leadership schools throughout the United States.
Dr. Polansky is president of Polansky & Associates and is in constant demand to present professional development seminars to a wide variety of professionals in law enforcement.
